Life

well... its been ages since i posted so.... i am close to the end of the semester, but that only means that i have finals and an exegesis due in 3 weeks..... i just celebrated my birthday with my family yesterday since i will be on campus for my birthday.... i went to work with my mother the other night which was fun since i want to be a nurse and my mother is a nurse, so it was fun being in the hospital environment, and especially fun going into the nursery to play with the babies :)
i just can't wait for this semester to be over, im finding that my gen eds are more stressful than my nursing classes, funny how that works
im starting to feel burned out.... most of that comes from all the tests/papers/speeches that i have to write.... it is not abnormal for me to have 3 tests in a week or even in a day.... next semester will be a lot better class wise because i have gen eds that don't require a lot of papers and the tests should be fairly easy
ok... enough of my complaining

been a while

i noticed that i hadn't posted in a while so here goes...... im at school and loving it.... i love having people to hang with. i just got a job but i will only be working one day a week, so thats not too bad. i participated in braodway revue which was soooo much fun.... im going to see phantom of the opera in november and i am completely stoked!!!!!! i get to go home this weekend because we have a four day weekend (break= sheer happiness)..... im still a nursing major (hehe) so i suppose thats a good thing
well.... im off to church now

back to school

well, tomorrow i head back to good ole ONU. i can't wait to see everyone. ive already made plans to meet up with people :) its not that i really want to do the school work, i mostly just want to see all my friends. its gonna be great!!!! im looking forward to relative quiet compared to living with my family

Summer

well, i just finished my last day of work for the summer. tomorrow i head to wisconsin for a week then it is off to school for me.
i am super excited because i got a B in micro!!!!!!!! i was kind of worried about my grade before, but it all turned out ok :)

classes 2

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!! microbiology is officially over, and i will complete my English class tonight. that leaves me with 2 weeks of classlessness, and then it is back to school.

Classes

Well, i have 4 more days of microbiology and one week of english left (insert halellujah chorus here) :) i can't wait to be done. i like school, but i prefer it at olivet where there are people to hang out with, plus i won't be working as much, so i won't feel so overwhelmed. right now i feel like i have no time to myself. but oh well, it will soon be over.

sickness

well, my mom is soon to be hospital bound again (sigh). she spiked a fever last night and was throwing up pretty bad. she had a follow up doctors appointment from her meningitis, but when he heard she had been sick last night, he is scheduling her to go to univ. of chicago hospital to have a ton of tests done to find out what is worng with her. i just wish she would stop be sick. it is so inconvientent sometimes :/

family

so things have been a little crazy these last 2 weeks. my mom ended up in the hospital with viral meningitis and my grandparents came back from peru 2 weeks early. my mom will probably be in the hospital for a few more days then hopefully she will be able to come home. i've decided that i won't go to florida. hopefully, if all goes as planned, my grandparents might take me on a cruise over christmas break, which would be amazing. so, im crossing my fingers on that :)
on a differnet note, my car is slowly getting fixed which is amazing, my grandfather is a wounderful mechanic :)

micro

well, im super happy right now because i got my mirco test back today and i got a 90 on it which is a huge relief. if i can get 80's and 90's on all the other tests, i will be able to go to florida with my family. i can't believe it is july already, my summer is almost over, when it feels like it just started. that is so depressing. the weather has been really weird too. it has been cold, which makes it feel like it is fall instead of summer. as much as i love summer, i can't wait to get back to ONU. most of my friends from campus agree. they are all just as bored as i am. at least on campus you always have someone to hang out with. most of my friends are finding out that they changed a lot during the year, and now they don't have as much in common with their friends from highschool. at least they have people to hang out with. my life is spent working, doing homework, going to class, sleeping, playing on the internet and watching tv. that gets really tiresome after a while. sometimes i feel like i need a vacation from life. wouldn't that be great.

well, i just survived my second week of micro and my first test in it. the test was ok, i just hope she grades on a curve :) things are starting to get hectic. i'm just now understanding how much work im gonna have in my 2 classes, ugh!!!!! plus im working anywhere between 27-35 hours a week at work, which is good for the money, but bad when you work til 11pm and have a class at 8 am. plus all the homework i have to get done when im not in class or working. its a very daunting task. but, only 6 more weeks of classes then im done for the summer. well, im off to work.

I was sitting in church today, and we were sing the song "The Love of God". I've sung this song hundreds of times and yet i never notice this verse

I love this verse. It provides such an amazing mental picture. It is also the perfect description of what our love for God should look like.

On another note, i'm kind of mad at myself because this is one of the few sundays that i don't have to work, and i slept through my alarm. thus i didn't get to go to trinity, but instead had to go to dekalb. The dekalb church isn't a bad church, it just really isn't my style. But oh well. Another sunday perhaps.

Summer is over for me

Well, my summer vacation is over for me, as of monday i will begin 2 summer classes, plus working close to 30 hours a week. Will i have any life? NOPE. NOt that i have one here anyways since i don't know anyone, but that is besides the point. my last weekend of freedom before school again. Sigh.
I'm happy cuz i just got done talking with my grandparents. They are in Peru right now, and i haven't talked to them since the left 2 weeks ago. they are in peru for another 4 weeks. after they get back we head to florida for a week, which im really excited about. i haven't seen my family down there in close to 2 years.

Stuff

So, i found out yesterday that my transcript never got sent to the community college that i plan on taking a class at this summer. I had to drive out to it (a 30 min. drive) and show them my report card so that i could at least get registered for the class, and i would have my official transcript sent later. i was not a happy camper when i found out my transcript had never arrived. but oh well, everything worked out ok, it was just kind of frustrating.
my family is going away for the weekend, and they leave tomorrow so i will have the house to myself for 5 days (HURRAY!!!!). even though they will be gone, i still have a crazy busy work schedule. i work today-sat, and monday which= lots of late nights and sleeping til 11 or 12 :)

My Summer thus far

So my summer has been kind of hectic, most of it has been spent as a chauffer for my family. My mom is on medication that doesn't allow her to drive, so i have to drive her to the hospital and the doctors office, plus getting my brothers from school, and now my step dad threw his back out so i had to drive him to the hospital last night. GRRR! i want to be in control of my own life sometimes. But enough ranting for now.
I just order my books for microbiology (cringe). Why are textbooks so EXPENSIVE?????? explain this concept for me. at least i will be able to sell it once i'm done with it, a very small consolation to say the least.
I get to work again tonight, its not too bad cuz i get money, but it still isn't fun.
I can't wait for school to start, i just want to get it over with. part of my impatience stems from the fact that i don't have any friends by my house, they are all in vermont or farther away in the state of illinois, indiana, and michigan. that, and in the fall i get to see one of my friends from a trip that we went on to mexico. its very exciting. i can't wait for summer to be over.

1st post

Well, i am officially a nursing student now after having changed my major a million times (sigh). i will start taking microbiology in a few weeks (ugh) but it will be worth it i suppose.
my computer is being moronic, so i have to take it to the geek squad to get it fixed (major sigh). i just wish it would work like any other normal computer.
im excited cuz i get to see pirates 3 for the second time, i am taking my brother to see it, even though i saw it on thursday.
